The MICAH research group depends on the
UFR Santé of the University of Caen Normandy. It is under contract of partnership with the
INSERM and the
University of Rouen Normandie. MICAH belongs to the Genomics and Biomarkers of Lymphoma and Solid Tumors team directed by Fabrice Jardin (team 2), which is one of the four research teams of the INSERM UMR1245 unit (Genomic and Personalized Medicine in Cancer and Neurological Disorders,
GPMCND) directed by Thierry Frebourg. The four teams of INSERM UMR1245 are the following :
- team 1. Genetic predisposition to cancer – Thierry Frebourg
- team 2. Genomics and biomarkers of lymphoma and solid tumors – Fabrice Jardin
- team 3. Genetic of Alzheimer disease, related dementia and psychose – Dominique Campion
- team 4. Genetics and pathophysiology of neurodeveloppemental disorders – Bruno Gonzales
Our group is located at level 03 of the
CHU Côte de Nacre, Caen. It brings together researchers, clinicians, students, technicians who have been studying the pathophysiology of malignant hemopathies for many years.
Our group is currently interested in deciphering the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying the transformation of mature B cell as well as the mechanisms of resistance of tumor cells to various drugs. We are investigating rare diseases such as hairy cell leukemia and polyclonal lymphocytosis with binucleated lymphocytes with both epidemiological and biological approaches (e.g. characterization of gene signatures by "high-throughput" sequencing). We seek to identify drugs effective for peripheral T-cell lymphoma and systemic mastocytosis.
Ultimately, we hope that our research will bring new contributions in understanding the mechanisms that underlie hematological cancers with a view toward therapeutic strategies.
We are using the technical platforms of
ICORE (SF4206, Université de Caen Normandie),
Cyceron (Caen), and
IRIB (Université de Rouen Normandie).
